Great jeweler, articulate, friendly and honest. ?I’ll let you know how my piece turns out but the jeweler, I think his name is Mike, was able to look at the piece I have and with my description of what I wanted the finished piece to look like sketched out what I think is going to be a piece.
This review is the honest truth from a former customer. It has been almost 9 years since I’ve been there and I still very upset with them. My husband had them design an engagement ring for me – a pave band with a center stone (approx value $8k…not a lot of money for most but it was for us in our late 20s/early 30s). They told him that if the ring doesn’t fit 925 Sterling Silver Jewelry, they would re-size it. Little did we know, but they should have, you can’t re-size a pave diamond band. Long story short, after taking the ring in for resizing, several days later they called me to say they couldn’t. I asked them why they told my fianc they could when they sold him the ring. The jeweler didn’t have a response instead suggested a “u-shape spring” to be placed inside the ring. Given that I was young and na?ve about jewelry and didn’t know better, I said OK since the ring was too big for my finger…they didn’t leave me with another option. Several days later Sterling Silver Pendants, I went to pick up my ring. To my shock silver jewelry, I didn’t realize it was an actual u-shape spring. It looked like a fake toy ring with a spring part inside it. I couldn’t believe they actually tried to give me back the ring that look like crap. I saw the ring and just cried. Thank goodness my coworker was with me and suggested I refuse the ring and demanded they fit it properly. I wanted a second opinion so we walked five stores over to Polachecks Jewelers. They were extremely helpful and even they couldn’t believe how bad the ring looked and advised me to demand they “make it right”. Secondly, the ring was supposed to be all platinum but they used platinum for the ring but white gold for the prongs. I asked them why wasn’t the ring stamped with the symbol for platinum since that is what we were promised and had paid for. They gave me some lame excuse that they “had to make the prong in white gold, it was the standard in the industry”…something lame like that. I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The jeweler ended up making a whole new ring. Anyway, after the BBB filing, they did make the ring in all platinum and had it stamped with the “PT” letters so I know they were cutting corners with the first ring. Furthermore, the second ring they made, they used smaller diamonds for the pave band. It was definitely not the same size diamonds. I only had pictures from when we were on vacation and my fianc proposed but I didn’t have hard evidences that they used smaller stones but I know they are. I bet my life on it. This experience ruined what should have been one of the happiness occasions in a person life. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Not worth taking the chance of ruining your special day. Buyers beware!!!

I love Dago. He has talent that is unbelievable. He turned one of my father’s cufflink’s into a ring for me. He designed and created my engagement ring Sterling Silver Bangles, and so many other sacred pieces. His platinum engraving is beautiful. I can’t say enough good things about him…there has not been a special celebration in my life in the past 10 years that Dago wasn’t involved with. My daughter’s first earrings were the most recent and he even made the backs flower screw on so she wouldn’t get her neck scratch. He always goes the extra mile. ?Prior to finding Dago, I was a huge Philip Press girl. I still love Philip’s work. However Stainless Steel Rings, Dago is as talented for a better price and will stay up all night to finish the piece.

This is a great little gem in the middle of Downtown that not many people know about. ?I have been here many times for lunch #eatlunch and have always enjoyed the experience of sitting outside in an alley/old school setting. ?Most of the 10 plus food spots/coffee shops have the same kind of food, deli and middle-eastern food. I have been to about 4 different spots and have not been disappointed.Some of the things that I have had here are various sandwiches, shawarma, and falafel.This is a great place to step away from the office and have something different from the many typical food courts that are all over DTLA.
St. Vincent Court is a little piece of heaven located in the back alley of downtown LA’s seedy Jewlery District. ?It’s an actual alley lined with quaint shops and restaurants but it’s the nicest alley you’ll ever encounter. ?It’s accessed either from 7th St or from the small parking lot just off of Hill. ?If you don’t know what you’re looking for it can be difficult to find because access is nondescript and there’s no indication this place even exists. ?You can see people casually walking by, not knowing what they are missing. ?All they have to do is take several extra steps from the street pop their head inside to find themselves transported into another world. ?I found out about St Vincent from Huell Howser’s PBS show, “Visiting”. ?Back then it used to be an enclave of Greek culture but now it’s a mixture of Meditterranean, European, and I believe there’s even a Chinese Restaurant there. ?As soon as you step into this alleyway, the place seems surreal, like you’ve stepped on to a movie set. ?It looks too perfect, too clean to be a location here in Los Angeles. ?Disneyesque is what comes to mind. ?The Court is less than a block long and the alley is cobbled with beautiful brick work instead of unsightly asphalt, which is ubiquitous through out this city. ?This charming little alleyway was never meant for unsightly vehicles but meant for only pedestrian foot traffic. ?There are tables lining the sidewalks along various European style store fronts freshwater Pearl Necklaces, usually occupied by older looking gentlemen smoking their cigarettes and drinking their expressos. ?Really!! This place doesn’t belong here. ?Angelenos…we don’t deserve this place because heaven shouldn’t exist in the middle of hell aka my home town. ?This place should remain a secret.
This is the place to go for your jewelry needs, from wholesale to resale. There are so many shops within the building and the surroundings that it would take you the full day to visit each shop. Parking closer to the area is more expensive. If you are willing to walk there is a parking lot on Olive between 8th and 9th Street for $5 all day. It is also walking distance from the 7th/Metro station. Sometimes they have movie or commercial filming outside. So if you’re lucky you may even see someone famous.
A very cute alleyway that has a very different dynamic than the surrounding area. It has a European feel with outdoor seating in the alleyway. It’s very quaint and worth seeing once. However, it’s really just a small alleyway and if you’re just looking to look – it’ll take you less than 5 minutes to really take it all in.The place can feel a little sketchy, especially if you look touristy – at least in my opinion. Restaurants serve great food with reasonable prices and can be a good stop during a busy shopping day.
I came here after reading about it in the downtown news…it made me feel like I was back in London, minus the Brits and plus lots of Persian looking people and Asians.I too ate at the St. Vincent deli, and to my surprise, it was pretty tasty. I got a gyro sandwich, which didn’t look like much, and I had to ask for the cream sauce, which is more watery than creamy.But the taste of the sandwich was solid fashion jewelry, and it was worth it to see this little quaint alleyway, complete with pigeons that aren’t afraid to fly straight at your head. God I hate pigeons.Oh yea, it said my sandwich cost $6.50, but they charged me $7. For sales tax or what? I have no clue.
The place has a great feel to it. It’s like stepping back into a European back alley with all the outdoor seating, cafes, smokers, and pigeons. Most of the stores are middle eastern sandwich deli shops.I’ll definitely be back to try one a sandwich at one of these cafes.
Shopping in the Jewelry District in Downtown LA? ?Just walking around for a lunch break from work? ?Definitely a must visit is St. Vincent Court. ?It’s an alley full of Middle Eastern cafe’s one next to the other with great lunches, sandwiches, coffees, teas etc. ?You can find everything from regular Italian hoagies to Middle Eastern sandwiches and plates of food.The food is good. ?The deli is fresh. ?Very very reasonable prices and outdoor seating area. ?It’s a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown LA. ?I’ve been going to St. Vincent Court since I was 5 and it was an under developed cafe row with only but a few cafes. ?Now it looks beautiful and has a European feel to it.Good atmosphere and Good Food!!
This place is so incredibly adorable! I’ve lived in Los Angeles my entire life and I had never seen this place before! It’s so cute! It has all these false facades and these cafes that look so cute and quaint, and it reminds me of cafes in Europe and being able to eat outside and it’s just so cute wholesale jewelry, they have a little bit of everything, Italian, a cute little French style Cafe, Middle Eastern Food, Greek…it all looked so amazing and such a wonderful little atmosphere. Definitely a hidden gem in Downtown LA.
I was out and about just walking around for lunch when I happened to run across a small alleyway right off of 7th. I decided to take a look in, to see what this place was all about. As I entered, I felt like I was walking down a small brick road in Europe somewhere. It was really interesting to find such a place in the middle of Downtown L.A….a bunch of mniddle eastern delis, restaurants, pizza places, and also a barber shop! I decided to stop at one of the delis for a gyro…geez, its been a while since I had myself a gyro! The gyro was ok…nicely seasoned, but nothing too special…All in all, I enjoy the ambiance of St Vincent’s…its a cool area in the middle of Downtown to walk to and hang out at, and they also have a selection of middle eastern restaurants to choose from.
There are a collection of Middle Eastern-style cafes and delis present, but my favorite sandwich is at ARTURO’S THE ORIGINAL (directly across from St. Vincent Deli). My wife and I were jewelry shopping in the adjacent St. Vincent Jewelry Center and came to the court for lunch while waiting for a ring to be set. Arturo’s serves a hearty 10-inch sandwich for $6.99. I opted for the roast beef and provolone cheese, heated up panini style. It comes very Middle East style, with a light mayonnaise, easy on the mustard, tomatoes, cucumber slices, dill pickle chips, lettuce all served on a baguette french bread roll sliced on half. Two people can split one of these filling delights. When my wife couldn’t finish her sandwich they were happy to wrap it up to go. The order counter is small but very clean inside and the place smells wonderful. The LA. Health Dept gave it an “A” rating which is posted on the front. The girls that man the counter are very friendly and they bring your order outside to you in the cafe seating area. The owner came outside to make sure we were happy and when we raved about the food he sent out a complimentary baklava pastry for us. It was authentic and just delicious. If you are in the neighborhood of Seventh and Hill, this is a delightful casual place.
I wandered over here a random Sunday to walk off my nickel diner breakfast. Everything in SVC was closed which was actually a good thing. I got to wander around and take pictures of all the cute buildings. I hate looking like a tourist but I can’t help it. I love my cameras too much Even if you have no desire to shop for jewelry totally drop by for the weird are we still in L.A. moment you’ll have.
OH they have this salad place there and theres a wings and things right across NICE !

A pin fell out of my watch band and I needed to get it fixed. ?The price was about $11 (with tax), which I thought was a bit pricey. ?The guy was very friendly, but it took a bit longer than he expected. ?He said 10 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 30. ?Haven’t had a problem with the band so far.
I stopped in here to ask about replacing my watch battery.Service was fine, I guess, but the prices the guy quoted me were ridiculously high, easily 4x higher than what it cost at other stores. So pay at your own risk.
DON’T EVER EVER EVER have anything repaired by this place.On March 11th I brought my watch and my boyfriend’s watch in to Fast Fix in Century City to have our batteries replaced. ?Both of our watches are high end and I figured this place would be a safe bet since it was located in Century City and the mall is a more upscale place – BOY WAS I WRONG!I paid $50 for my boyfriend’s battery and $60 for my battery. ?I went and had lunch and about an hour and half later I walked back to pick up both watches. ?I put my watch on my wrist and the man in the repair area was still working on my boyfriend’s watch. ?I overheard him having issues with the pin and he asked for more time. ?I walked around some more, then returned and the girl working at the counter gave me my boyfriend’s watch in an envelope. ?I paid and left.When I arrived home I gave my boyfriend his watch. ?He went to put it on and the pin fell right out and his watch was not able to latch anymore. ?I felt terrible becuase it was perfectly fine when I initially took in to Fast Fix.I returned back to the store on March 18th (just 1 week later) when I finally made the time and the same girl who helped me on the 11th told me I was not going to like what I was going to here but it was going to cost me an additional $12.95 to replace the pin that they originally messed up in the first place. ?She never once said she was sorry for the inconvenience and that she had no choice and that, that was there story policy. ?My attorney friend was with me to witness the incident and she was appalled, my friend read the store policy on the wall and informed the girl at the counter that there was no correlation of this incident to the policy. ?The girl “named Ann” argued with me that it was not their responsibility to fix it and that I should have inspected the watch before I left and I had the watch for a week, so they won’t fix it. ?Why in the hell would I put on my boyfriend’s watch before leaving the store!!!! ?She continued to say I had to pay to have it repaired – even though I just spent over $100 having batteries replaced by them and would ?not need the repair if they properly put the watch back together. ?In order for a battery to be replaced a watch needs to be completely unlatched and the pins removed so that the back of the watch can be opened. ?I could not believe the poor customer service and that they were willing to lose a customer over $12.95 which was completely their fault. ?I took my watch to another watch repair store and the pin was fixed for $5.00 and come to find out the batteries for the watches should not have been more than $30.00 a piece. ?I told them about the situation and they could not believe that Fast Fix would not replace the pin themselves and that they actually said they’d charge me for it.So in the end I discovered I OVER PAID which is a total rip off, was treated TERRIBLY, INCONVENIENCED by having to take my boyfriend’s watch to another store all because of Fast Fix…I would not trust them – I believe the purposely do shoddy work.

Cute small to mid-size gift shop with lots of unique items like glass ware, liquor flasks, candles, artistic pieces of jewelry in sterling and stainless steel. Tiffany’s watches are made from stainless and I love mine, so it’s a good thing. Also, the table lamps caught my eye. Right next to Sky Gourmet Tacos, the owner is really cool and is a community resource person for this area. Prices very reasonable and they have a website as well.12-08-07 UpdateThis store is packed with unique gifts, see pics. ?Other customers and myself were amazed at the inexpensive prices. In addition to all the other stuff Shamballa Bracelets, there are also plenty of cute baby gifts and t-shirts Wholesale Jewellery, glass eggs, greeting cards Handmade jewelry, Dr. Seuss books, card holders, cute key chains, flasks, watches, etc. ?One stop central for gift shopping at great prices. Plus they have cute lime green shopping bags. ?On the south side of Pico, east of Hauser, metered street parking.
I visited the store while waiting for an order from Sky’s Tacos. I ended up getting a card for a friend’s birthday. The place has a lot more than cards though. There are quite a lot of nice and ?interesting stuff that could be used for gifts or as house furnishings. I don’t think I would make a special trip here but would stop by if I was going to one of the nearby restaurants.
Great place for a quick stop to get a gift. Next to Sky’s (as Joan said) and the owner here is great and friendly. Cool wine boxes/holders!!! Also hard to find/original gifts can be found here.
This is an awesome gift shop, will have to share it with Mom when she is back in town. ?I found a perfect wedding gift there. ? ?Apparently, they had a birthday party for the owner the night before, I should have taken them up on their offer of a glass of champagne. ?Will be going back — and mind you I do not like to shop.

Saw lots of perfect gifts at the perfect price for that person you never know what to get…candlestick holders, imported baskets, business card holders, jewerly. ? ?Now if I can only remember how to get there next time I need ?a quick last minute gift.
